Strawberry Smoothie

1/2 Head of Romaine Lettuce (6 oz)          29
3 Bananas (12 oz)                                        303
1/4 Whole Pineapple (8 oz)                        113
1 cup Strawberries (6 oz)                              54

Total: (32 oz)                                                 499 calories

Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy! 

To Store:

 Fill container to full capacity and cap with lid. Refrigerate until needed.

  1. Thanks for some extremely enticing recipes! I tried this one for breakfast as I love strawberries. I cut the quantities down a bit and added a pinch of cinnamon (a personal favourite spice) and it was absolutely stunning. I will be doing this more often in future.

      The smoothies are actually really complete in themselves and there is no reason to add protein. If you feel you need to add protein please read my article about protein here: How much protein do i need day to day?

      and if you don’t read that article: Please do not add protein to the smoothies, you might think you need it but you really do not and it causes lots of problems when you intake to much. The perfect amount you need is already in your food.

  5. Hi Charley, I tried the weight loss smoothie with added blackberries. I was a bit hesitant with the lettuce because I’ve had less than stellar results when using vegetables in the past. However, I did say I would give it a go, so I did. I did taste a hint of romaine but not enough to bother me, and it was definitely a better breakfast than tea and scones. Well, more nutritious let’s say!! Tomorrow – strawberries.

  6. You know, about a week or two ago I ate strawberries in about the first time after around a decade of not having them! I forgot how they tasted, and they were delicious! I couldn’t get them because of dietary issues. Looks like Ill be able to put them to good use!
