Blackberry Smoothie

1/2 Head of Romaine Lettuce (6 oz)           29
3 Bananas (12 oz)                                         303
1/4 Whole Pineapple (8 oz)                         113
1 cup Blackberries (6 oz)                                73

Total: (32 oz)                                                  518 calories

Put everything in the blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy! 

To Store:

 Fill container to full capacity and cap with lid. Refrigerate until needed.

  1. Will I get the same result if I don’t add the Head of Romaine Lettuce? Vegetable isn’t really my thing. A few days ago, for the first time, I tried a green smoothie that contains cucumber, parsley, ginger and lemon. I only drank half of it because the taste was just super bad. I guess that wasn’t for me. In the end, I just made ginger lemon honey tea 😀

    1. That green smoothie just sounds awful. I wouldn’t have drank it either. The reason I put the tender leafy green in the smoothie is because there is no better source of minerals for us. Mixing it in with the fruit helps with the taste if you are not a big greens fan but most people tell me that they can barely taste it and that is coming from people who don’t like lettuce (like me). There are also a wide variety of tender leafy greens that I recommend. Try them until you find the one you like but I don’t recommend making the smoothies without it.

  2. That’s great. I think I can handle that. Just 1 more question. Why do you recommend a Romaine Lettuce? Can we use other type of lettuce in case we couldn’t find one?

    1. I chose Romaine because it is the best lettuce for the price. You can make 2 smoothies from 1 head and the cost where I am is around $1.29 a head.
